About the Studio
After working for many years as a freelance photographer Ms Gosselin made a decision to create the studio in the summer of 2009. After staring off at a temporary location on Elm Street, Sonata Photo Arts moved to the permanent location on North Avenue. Ms Gosselin's husband came up with the name for the studio by creating a partial anagram from her first and maiden names.
About Nataliya Gosselin

Ms Gosselin was born in Moscow, Russia, into a family of third generation engineers. Creatively inclined since childhood, she was somewhat of an oddball in the family. This did not stop her from following her passion for visual arts and falling in love with photography in her early teenage years.
Following graduation from Brookdale Community College, Nataliya Gosselin continued pursuing her creative career working for respected local photographers. Gaining real life experience and being more acquainted with the trade allowed Ms Gosselin to start working on her own as a freelance photographer.
In addition to working as a professional photographer, Nataliya Gosselin has also continued her education in the field. In 2009 she received her BFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York, graduating with honors. While a senior at SVA she was nominated for the Tierney Fellowship award and was selected for the Mentors program, allowing her to work with the Photography Curator at MoMA Eva Respini.
Recently Ms Gosselin was honored and privileged to complete a five month long internship with the world-renowned photographer Mary Ellen Mark. Gosselin’s work has been exhibited both in New Jersey and New York in solo and group exhibitions. Most recently, she was awarded Honorable Mention in the Camera Club of New York National Juried Competition juried by Henry Horenstein.
In the spring of 2010 Nataliya Gosselin started publishing SONATA art magazine, a local publication dedicated to advancement of the arts. www.sonataphotoarts.com/magazine
